The Technology Lead will report to the Technology Director.


Job Overview

Our Technology Leads own the technical delivery of best in class digital solutions for our clients. Technology Leads partner closely with our creative, strategy, and program management leads as part of a highly collaborative solutions team to define, design, develop, and deliver engaging, effective user experiences. Technology Leads engage with clients and internal teams to guide all technical aspects of projects from concept to delivery. Our Tech Leads play a central role in bringing our development capability to life in support of the development of digital marketing platforms that use the latest technologies and approaches to match the needs of the client to the solution.


Responsibilities and Duties

Lead Projects

  • In charge of the day-to-day technical delivery on projects, overseeing the technology team and managing deliverables and deadlines. Be the calm presence during the chaos

  • Collaborate with project leads to understand business, user and technical requirements

  • Ensure development team members have an appropriate briefing on the client and the project

  • Lead the technology team to create engaging, reliable, high-performance digital experiences

  • Work with team to estimate projects and deliver project within estimate

Be Strategic

  • Provide strategic technical direction for the client and the account

  • Understand the client’s overall business and marketing goals

  • Work with client IT organizations to provide consulting and solutions that meet their technology needs

  • Subject matter experts on their accounts

Develop Innovative Technical Solutions  

  • Architect technical solutions that are strategic and innovative

  • Bring a creative technology mindset to problem solving

  • Strive for the best mix of proven and cutting-edge technologies in our solutions

  • Effectively communicate technical strategy to both clients and internal teams, often using non-technical 

Discipline Leadership

  • Be a team leader, creating purpose for the work the team is doing

  • Participate in mentoring employees and contributing to their professional development

  • Act as in-house expert on various technologies and assist others in learning these technologies

  • Support the development and evolution of Evans Hunt’s technology service offering

  • Use project retrospective or other tools to drive team feedback and continuous improvement  

Lead by Doing

  • Be a leader that is also a doer, staying on the tools and contributing development skills where required

  • Be actively engaged in project delivery, jumping in as lead developer when that’s the right solution for the project

Build Business  

  • Understand we’re here to do great work and make money doing it

  • Be aware of the economics of the clients and the projects you’re engaged on

  • Work with CP team to sell in larger ideas and programs

  • Build relationships with clients and vendors to create opportunities

  • Support new business development

  • Maintaining high coding standards and practices and exercise quality control on all aspects of technical development

  • 10+ years of experience designing and building web-based solutions

  • BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience delivering LAMP stack CMS solutions including Drupal and SilverStripe

  • 2+ years proven experience leading teams and delivering projects while maintaining a high standard in code quality

  • Knowledge of dev ops and release management best practices

  • Experience mentoring junior developers

  • Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment

  • Strong knowledge of digital/web technologies, technology vendors and third party technologies

  • Excellent written and oral communications, including outstanding presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure managing multiple project tracks and teams concurrently
