Job overview

At Evans Hunt, our mission is to create powerful, positive experiences that combine strategy, creative, and technology. As a Senior Digital Strategist, you will lead digital strategy on a number of our key client accounts, performing planning functions on our more complicated and challenging projects. You will gain an intimate understanding of these key clients, their competitors, and key industry trends, and effectively communicate your findings to clients, as well as creative and technical members of the team.

Your addition to the team will extend our capabilities and push the standards for creating websites and products that are compelling,  appealing, and easy to use. In addition to owning the strategy practice at Evans Hunt, you will contribute to growing awareness of the company as a thought leader and innovator.

Who we’re looking for

Our ideal candidate is a craftsperson and a leader. Someone who can practice their craft, as well as help define how Evans Hunt does strategy.

If the person below sounds like you, you should definitely apply.

You are a natural leader with an ability to foster relationships with all levels of the team, to relate well with others, and to listen effectively.

You have deep knowledge of strategic practices including problem definition, landscape reviews, research, insights and trends, customer experience methodologies, and strategy development.

You are a self-directed leader who proactively takes ownership. You bring fresh ideas, tools, and methods to the table. You’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. You exemplify big thinking and are ready to put some of your great ideas to practice.

You don’t mind getting your hands dirty. You’ll be hands-on across your portfolio of clients.

You enjoy a fast-paced environment. You love deploying new strategies in an agile environment. Ideally you have experience and passion for high growth services firms, fully distributed workforce, with an award-winning culture – in the marketing or tech industry.

A day in the life. Working at an agency, you'll have the opportunity to work with various clients across a diverse range of industries simultaneously. One day you might be studying the needs of job-seekers for a review site with over 50 million unique monthly visitors. Another day you might explore how the needs between American and Canadian travellers differ and how to best localize their online experience. No day is the same.

That said, there are activities that will likely take up most of your time. These include:

Client Leadership

  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, stakeholder interviews, and ideation sessions
  • Collaborate with client partners on the preparation of marketing recommendations and customer experience strategies for clients
  • Working closely with the Customer Experience team (UX Design, Research and Data & Analytics), recommend and plan pertinent research and analysis activities
  • Identify strategic needs, lead all aspects of planning with sound business recommendations, and facilitate alignment among clients and key business partners
  • Present recommendations masterfully, balancing the “ooh” (dazzle) and the “aah” (insight) to support the selling of strategy and ideas
  • Maintain and develop key strategic partner networks
  • Develop integrated marketing strategies and tactical plans to meet and exceed clients’ marketing and business goals/objectives, while keeping the ideal customer experience at the forefront
  • Help define project scope, writing estimates and proposals
  • Generate and drive insight for internal and client audiences around media, brands, and customer experience
  • Provide market research analyses and insights around industry trends
  • Oversee the development of marketing and creative briefs on key accounts
  • Complete sector, industry, and competitive analyses and benchmarking
  • Define measurement strategies to support ongoing strategy development and program optimization

Strategy Leadership

  • Contribute to the vision, structure, and management of Evans Hunt’s strategic practice
  • Ensure overall quality of strategy work on key client accounts
  • Provide guidance and insight about strategy practices to colleagues in other departments
  • Influence cross-functional teams in the creation and execution of effective research, analyses, and strategy
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to expand business relationships
  • Support new business presentations
